My Makeup Essentials

Hello people of the world!!

If you've noticed, I've been missing for a hot minute and it's because I'm moving! Which I'll make a post about once I'm a little more settled-and have chairs to sit on. Until then, I thought I'd share my makeup essentials!

These are the products I use to just throw on my face in order to look presentable whilst picking up groceries or going to work.

First off, I use primer.

I swear by the Pro Filt'r Instant Retouch Primer by Fenty Beauty by Rihanna. This product smells amazing to start, and is light but keeps my foundation looking fresh all day. Even if it's a particularly hot day, all the dabbing of my forehead doesn't move my foundation. I've used a few other primers such as the Benefit Porefessional and Makeup Forever Mattifying primer. Though Fenty is THE one.

-I just use my *clean* hands to apply this all over my face

Then I go in with a foundation.

Which at this time I've been using the All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation by Nars. I bought this one because my local Sephora was out of Nars' Sheer Glow Foundation and it is now my favourite! I was a bit skeptical of the liquidy-ness of it but, just a few drops of this stuff puts a perfectly light layer of medium cover foundation! Another favourite of mine was Peach Perfect Comfort Matte foundation by Too Faced.

-I use a foundation brush to apply this all over then use a beauty blender to smooth everything out

Eyebrows!

The Brow Wiz by Anastasia Beverly Hills is one of my holy grails. I will re-purchase this item over and over again for the next 3 years and then probably a few more. I used to use the brun eyeshadow pot from Mac with a 226 brush but the brow wiz just gives that more defined look. For a casual brow, I def use the Mac Brun though.

Concealer

The Creamy Radiant Concealer by Nars. Is. Amazing. I've tried quite a few concealers and this one is just the perfect mix between full coverage but also not looking too cakey or feeling too thick. Special shoutout to Boi-ing Industrial Strength concealer. It too is a great, extremely pigmented concealor that will come thru when it's needed.

-I use this concealer under my eyes, on any spots and to cut my brow.

Setting Powder

Pro- Filt'r Instant Retouch Setting Powder by Fenty Beauty - I used the Laura Mercier one for forever and although I love it I'd say Fenty does it just as well and it smells so much better.

-I bake under my eyes while I do my eyebrows then brush the excess off with a powder brush.

Eyeliner

Tattoo Liner by Kat Von D. I know she's not great but this liner is the best liner I've used. It also lasts months and I can't find any other liner that beats it.

Mascara

  1. Roller Lash by Benefit

  2. They're Real! by Benefit

  3. Lash Paint by Tarte

Roller Lash is an every day/any occasion mascara. As for They're Real, I pull that one out when I want my lashes to be noticed, it goes on pretty thick and lengthens your lashes in one swipe. Lash paint gives a very casual, feathery look.

Highlighter

Kiliwatt Freestyle Highlighter by Fenty Beauty. Amazing pigment. Sparkly af or subtle, depending on how much you apply. Amazing.

Setting Spray

De-Slick Oil Control Makeup Setting Spray by Urban Decay.

I know that was short and sweet but I'll be back to posting regularly soon!
